GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators in Alachua County have arrested a man they say raped a University of Florida Student and possibly attacked another student.
Andre Locus was arrested early Tuesday morning at a home in Gainesville. Deputies say forensic evidence links him to the attack.
Investigators say in April 2011, Locus forced his way into the student's home and raped her at knifepoint. Police say he stole electronics from the student before taking off.
Locus is facing charges of sexual battery.
When Locus was arrested, investigators say they found items stolen from other local homes inside his house.
Locus is also considered a person of interest in another recent sexual attack on a UF student that happened on April 15. Surveillance video
showed the potential suspect running away from the scene. That case is still under investigation.
