Man accused of stealing motorcycle arrested after chase
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The man wanted for stealing a motorcycle in Duval County has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase through Clay County.
A deputy noticed Timothy Griffin on the stolen bike, because it didn't have any tags. When the deputy tried to pull him over, he took off.
During the chase, Griffin crashed the bike and tried to run away. The deputy chased him, and managed to arrest him several minutes later.
Detectives say Griffin was carrying two bags of cocaine and a pocketknife when he was arrested.
Investigators used the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the stolen bike to track it back to its owner in Duval County.
We're told Griffin had recently been released from federal prison, and is still on probation for those charges.
