PALATKA, Fla. -- A Putnam County man is facing charges after deputies say he broke into his girlfriend's home and threatened to kill her.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office say 67-year-old Lamar Lucas lived with his girlfriend, Glenda Johns in a house on Peniel Road for seven months prior to the confrontation. They say Johns asked Lucas to move out and changed the locks on the door.

On Sunday, deputies say Lucas parked his car a mile away from the house, then broke a window and went inside and waited for Johns to get home. When Johns arrived home from her bingo game, she found Lucas inside and the two began to fight. They say that's when Lucas pulled out a gun and threatened Johns saying, "I'll shoot you."

Johns then called deputies and told them Lucas put a .22-caliber Ruger revolver to her head. That gun was later found loaded, inside the house.

During the investigation, Deputies also found Lucas has a non-expiring injunction for protection against him by another party and he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Lucas was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without without intent to kill, battery, and possession of a weapon in violation of an order for protection.

Lucas was taken to Putnam County Jail and was given a bond of $30,012.
