JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local man is off to prison after pleading guilty to molesting a child.
Today, A judge sentenced Wesley Fullard, Sr., to 20 years in prison.
In 2011, police say an 11-year-old girl said Fullard had been sexually abusing her for at least four years.
Fullard admitted in court to molesting the child.
"The victim's family agreed this defendant could plead to a lesser charge of attempted sexual battery in order to spare the little girl of facing her abuser at trial and reliving the crimes done to her," said Assistant State Attorney Stacie French.
After his prison sentence, Fullard must serve 120 years of sex offender probation.
He's also been identified as a sexual predator.
