JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested a man today in connection with a 2012 fatal hit and run crash.
Robert K. Sparrow has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Investigators say on March 23, 2012, Donald E. Barringer, was driving westbound across the Mathews Bridge when another vehicle sped up behind him.
Police say that vehicle, driven by Sparrow, tried to change lanes behind Barringer but hit his vehicle in the left rear. They say Sparrow also struck a third car, causing all three vehicles to spin. Then they say Sparrow got out of the vehicle, got into another vehicle at the scene, and fled the scene westbound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and he died on March 31.
