JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have made an arrest in the armed robbery of a Navy Federal Credit Union.

Ronald Dean Mitchell was arrested for the armed robbery of the Navy Federal Credit Union on Airport Center Drive on Tuesday. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office received numerous calls after his photo was distributed to local media. The suspect was positively identified, a warrant was issued, and Mitchell was arrested in St. Johns County.

On Tuesday at 5:20 p.m. police responded to the Navy Federal Credit Union at 550 Airport Center Drive in reference to a robbery.

The investigation revealed Mitchell entered the business, walked up to a teller, demanded money, showed a handgun, and fled on foot out of the business after he received money.
