Man arrested in drive-by shooting of child

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --The man wanted for shooting into a home and hitting a 3-year-old turned himself into police tonight.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Joseph Patrick Chambers, 27, turned himself in about 7:30 p.m. Chambers is wanted on charges related to attempted first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Police say Chambers was involved in a drive-by shooting on Dec. 28 in the 5600 block of Bishop Lane in the San Jose area.

The child was hit in the foot and is recovering.
