JACKSONVILLE Fla. -- A toddler is in the hospital tonight and a Jacksonville man is charged with abuseJ

According to a police report, Tommy Butler, 28, is charged aggravated child abuse, accused of violently beating his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.

The girl is stable at Wolfson's Children's Hospital right now and should recover.

Police believe the mother was unaware of what was going on.

This is not a man. It is a low life male. The police "believe" the child's mother did not know how it treated her little one. What is wrong with this "mother" that it is not aware of what anyone is doing to it's baby? I pray for this little one. To have been harmed like this is complete irresponsibility of her "mother."

A "man" violently beats an infant, and "mom' has no idea what's going on? Something is surely not right with that picture!
