WALDO, Fla. – A man in Alachua County is facing murder charges, after police say he killed his girlfriend’s dad.
Investigators say Ronald Andrews came home and walked into his daughter’s bedroom, and that’s when he was confronted by Willard Newman.
Police say Newman opened fire on Andrews before running out of the home.
Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers also found a semi-automatic handgun, black ski mask and gloves at the home.
Detectives tracked down and arrested Newman, who is now charged with homicide and armed burglary.
Newman is being held in the Alachua County Jail.
