JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was convicted in the armed robbery of a Jacksonville Cash America.

Eric Lonode Myrick, 29, was convicted Friday morning on charges of armed robbery with a firearm and false imprisonment.

In September 2012, JSO's SWAT Team was called to the Cash America store on Blanding Boulevard to handle a robbery/hostage situation.

When officers arrived, the door was locked. Two clerks were inside with Myrick, who was armed with a gun. The two victims were able to escape and get to safety. After a three hour stand-off, Myrick surrendered to SWAT.

Myrick faces a minimum mandatory of 10 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Oct. 14.
