JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was convicted of abusing a young girl.
Clifton McNeil Brooks, 39, was convicted this week on charges of sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation.
Brooks sexually abused a girl starting when she was 7. The abuse took place between 2003 and 2005. Authorities learned about the abuse after the victim told her mother. Two other victims came forward and testified against him.
Brooks faces a mandatory life sentence. He will be sentenced February 27.
