Man convicted of raping teen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was convicted Wednesday in the rape of a 17-year-old girl in 2010.

Jerrold Stewart, 44, was convicted on one count of custodial sexual battery.

The incident took place in August 2010. The girl was recovering from surgery and was still under anesthesia when the crime occurred.

According to a release, authorities were called after the victim complained of pain and went to the hospital.

Stewart faces 30 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of June 20.
