Man convicted on armed robbery, burglary charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man faces life in prison on armed robbery and armed burglary charges.

Harvey Floyd Holmes, 46, was convicted Thursday on charges of armed robbery and armed burglary.

In June 2009, Holmes held up the Sonic on Regency Square Boulevard.He tried to open a locked door and when he couldn't get inside, he shot into the door and shattered the glass. Holmes then took a bag of money and left. Holmes was later captured by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Holmes has felony convictions dating back to 1987 for burglary, robbery and armed robbery. Holmes was released from prison eight months before committing this crime.

Holmes faces mandatory life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of April 29, 2013.
