JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Jacksonville man is now facing mandatory life in prison for abusing a young girl. A jury took just two hours to convict Ronald Lyle Turner on
charges of Sexual Battery, Lewd or Lascivious Molestation, Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition, and Showing Obscene Materials to Minors.

Turner is convicted of sexually abusing a little girl between February and May 2009. The abuse started when she was five-years-old. Turner inappropriately touched the child, forced the child to touch him, and forced her to watch porn with him.

The little girl testified against Turner at trial. "This defendant was granted the white cloak of presumed innocence for three years," said Assistant State Attorney Jessica Villella.

"This trial - with this young victim's testimony - removed that cloak of innocence, revealed his guilt, and granted her closure." ASA Erin Perry also prosecuted the case.

Turner will be sentenced the week of September 17, 2012.
