JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are asking for help as they try to piece together the mysterious death of a Westside man. Investigators believe he had been dead in his home for several days and a truck normally at the home is missing.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells Action News that officers came to the home in the 3900 block of Aldington Drive to check up on the man whose family hadn't heard from him in days.

When police arrived, they had to force their way into the home, where they found the 58-year-old man in "an advanced state of decomposition," according to Sgt. Lonnie Mills.

Foul play is suspected in the man's death.

A white 2002 Ford Ranger is missing from the home. Police say it is registered to the man's son, who has also disappeared.

The truck has the Florida license plate Q72-2WZ and a topper covering the bed.

If you have any information that can help police, call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.  You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
