JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man will spend 10 years in prison for a 2012 fatal car accident.

David R. Gallagher, 20, was sentenced Monday to 10 years and two months in prison for the DUI manslaughter of Joseph Davidson.

Gallagher pleaded guilty in June. He was also sentenced to four and a half years of probation and must complete 300 community service hours with Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

In August 2012, Gallagher was driving down Julington Creek Road while intoxicated. He lost control of the vehicle, drove across a grass shoulder and struck a parked F-250 head on. Davidson, who was in the passenger seat, died at the scene.

Gallagher suffered minor injuries.

There was most likely two drunks in the car that night and the one who passed was a willing passenger. He gets 10yrs + and others walk free for much worse. He only 20yrs old! Ruined his life GREAT System we got. And Zimmermans of the world walk free?
