GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man has been convicted of attempted murder in a 2011 shooting at a Clay County nightclub.

Antonio Morales, 24, was sentenced to a minimum mandatory of 45 years in prison. He was convicted on a charge of attempted murder in the first degree for his involvement in a 2011 shooting at Club Christopher's on Wells Road in Orange Park.

In August 2011, Morales got into an argument with someone inside the club and was asked to leave the business. While in the parking lot, Morales got into another fight with a different person, Kevelin Holmes. During the argument, Morales pulled out a gun, shot Holmes and then fled in a car.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office spotted Morales' vehicle minutes after the shooting. Investigators recovered the weapon from under Morales' car seat and found a shell casing on the windshield wiper of the car.
