JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was sentenced to life in prison in the 2010 death of his ex-girlfriend.
Kevin Christopher Jones, 27, was sentenced to life in prison Thursday afternoon for the December 2010 death of Latoya Jones. He was convicted last month on a charge of second-degree murder.
The two were at Latoya's home when Kevin Jones stabbed her. After, Jones forced his her to drive him around town. While riding in the car, Jones reached over to the driver's side and strangled Latoya. Jones then jumped out of the moving car and watched his ex-girlfriend drive into a telephone pole.
The medical examiner found she died of strangulation.
