Man hit by dump truck

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man is in critical condition after being hit by a dump truck on Lem Turner Road.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, two men were attempting to cross the street at Lem Turner Road and Ida Street Wednesday morning when one of them was hit by a dump truck.

The man was transported to UF & Shands Jacksonville in critical condition.  His identity has not yet been released.

The dump truck had a green light and the driver does not face charges at this time.

Lem Turner Road between Lila Avenue and Ida Street was closed for several hours but the road is now back open.
