REDDICK, Fla. -- Marion County Sherriff deputies are investigating how a man reportedly wound up being shot to death after riding on the hood of car through the streets of Marion County.

According to the sheriff’s office, Nikki McNeil, 33, was trying to get away from her ex-boyfriend, Lamark Tucker Sr.

Investigators say Tucker hung on to the top of McNeil’s car for nearly 10 miles all while constantly threatening McNeil as she drove trying to seek help.

At the end point of incident, McNeil fired once through the windshield, striking Tucker.

Deputies say Tucker was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

So far, no arrest has been made in the case. Detectives stress it is early in their investigation and still need the public’s help in the case.

If you saw a man holding onto both the hood and roof of a white 4-door vehicle Saturday evening in Marion County deputies ask you to call (352) 368-3586 or Crime Stoppers at (352) 368-7867.

That's the same thing I was thinking, Gunny48...but it sounds like she shot a guy that was clinging onto the hood of her car..? All she has to do was drive fast enough and slam on the brakes and he would have shot off like a rocket. AND she should of had 911 on the cell phone the moment he came after her, shooting him sounds kinda drastic and un-necessary...or she could have drove his azz straight to a police station or fire dept. for help. I bet alcohol was involved.
