PALM COAST, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man whose body was found in a burning car late Thursday morning.

Firefighters discovered the body of Henry Cornish, 71, in a wooded area near the intersection of Brookhaven and Central Avenue about 11:30 a.m.

Investigators believe Cornish had some sort of medical issue that caused him to lose control of his 1998 Volvo. He ran off the road on Central Avenue and ended up in the woods.

The initial investigation shows the undercarriage of the Volvo struck a tree stump which either ruptured the fuel line or the fuel tank itself. That sparked the fire.

Although foul play is not suspect, the investigation into the crash continues.
