JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 38-year old man pleaded guilty to multiple sex crimes against children this week.

Robert Earl Hypes pleaded guilty to eight counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, four counts of Attempted sexual battery, two counts of sexual battery and two counts of sale, distribution or showing of obscene materials to minors.

Police said in 2011 they learned of a sexual history between Hypes and three female victims. Police said Hypes had inappropriately touched and forced sex with the victims since 2005. The victims are now aged 15 and 16. He also showed the victims pornographic videos.

In a separate case, Hypes also pleaded guilty to nine counts of possession of photographs-sexual performance by child. Hypes is facing life in prison and will be sentenced the week of Jan. 13, 2014.
Assistant state attorneys Anna Hixon and Rachel Algee prosecuted this case.
