BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A Georgia man was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison in a 2009 shooting.
James Matthew Fuller, 25, of Brunswick pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felony first offender while on probation and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The charges stem from the August 2009 shooting of 36-year-old Jeffrey Pennington of Brunswick at the Pizza Hut on Chapel Crossing Road.
Fuller approached him with a gun in a robbery attempt. Pennington was fatally shot.
Fuller must serve 25 years in prison, followed by five years of probation.
