Man sentenced to 50 years for kidnapping and raping a woman near her home
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to 50 years behind bars for rape and kidnapping.
Kadeem Quaishawn Hart, 21, was convicted in the 2007 attack of a woman in the Eureka Gardens apartment complex. Investigators say he held a BB gun up to her back, to the victim to a wooded area and raped her repeatedly.
Hours after that incident, he and another man allegedly stole another woman's car. Hart was sentenced to 20 years for carjacking in that case.
The initial 2009 conviction was overturned due to a procedural error. He entered a guilty plea shortly before the retrial.
