Man sentenced to life in 2012 stabbing death
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- John Swearingen, 47, was recently sentenced to life in prison for the 2012 stabbing death of Richard Haddon.
Swearingen was convicted in November of second-degree murder with a weapon.
In March 2012, Swearingen, Haddon and two other people were hanging out at the Pirate's Cove beach area off of Heckescher Drive.
Prosecutors say Swearingen became angry with Haddon and began chasing him around a car with a knife, before stabbing him in the head.
