LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A man from Lake City is recovering in the hospital with burns all over his body after setting himself on fire during a domestic violence attack.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says the man attacked two people in a home on Southeast Margaret Street last night with a baseball bat. The man hit his girlfriend, possibly breaking her arm. He then attacked a man while he slept, hitting him repeatedly in the face and neck with the bat.
The victims were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff's office says the man set himself on fire. Authorities found lighter fluid and a bat at the scene. The suspect, identified as Robert Drew Manson, 49, will be taken to jail once he is medically cleared from the hospital. He is facing two counts of aggravated battery.
