PALM COAST, Fla. -- A man is in jail after getting drunk and firing his gun at his mother's dog inside her home.
Deputies were called to a home on Slowdrift Turn early Tuesday morning after a report came in that shots had been fired inside a home.
Richard Paladino, 44, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon after he fired his gun at his mother's dog inside her home.
According to his mother, Paladino took the dog for a walk while heavily intoxicated. He returned home and threatened to kill her dog. Minutes later she heard gunshots and fled to her bedroom where she called the authorities.
When deputies arrived, Paladino surrendered without incident. His blood alcohol level registered as a .339.
Paladino's mother showed deputies several other bullet holes in the wall from other incidents. Two firearms and several knives were taken into evidence.
