JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local man is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the stomach.

It happened Thursday in a home on the 10900 block of Beach Boulevard.

According to JSO, the man was cleaning his rifle when the gun went off.

The victim was taken to UF & Shands Jacksonville. Investigators say the bullet passed through his abdomen and he is expected to be "just fine."

They should take this guys gun away from him and never, I mean, never let him own another fire arm again. If your not smart enough to unload you rifle before you go to clean it, your just an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to own any fire arm again in your lucky a$$ life. Play the lotto. Glad you will be fine, but please, sell your rifle because you will make anyone around you much safer.
