JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In broad daylight, shortly after noon on Sunday, a domestic dispute turned deadly in the post office parking lot on the corner of Blanding Blvd. and Townsend Road.

"A female pulled out a pistol and shot a male several times," said JSO Lt. Michael Eason.

According to police, after killing the man the woman then fled in a Ford Focus. A retired police sergeant witnessed it and followed her in his vehicle giving police updates on her location.

Police caught up with the car on Timuquana Road where the suspect crashed into a car at the intersection of Seaboard Avenue carrying a mom and her children.

Everyone in the car crash received minor injuries according to JFRD. The mom was transported to an area hospital out of precaution.

Janey Denmark was working at a laundromat nearby when the crash took place. Denmark saw the suspect get arrested and tells Action News she didn't go down without a fight.

"The police were getting her out of the car and she was fighting them the whole time," Denmark said.

Names of the suspect and the deceased have not been released by JSO.

@Gunny48....so true!!! If it was a African American kids walking down the street with a pack of Skittles he would have definitely been shot to death by JSO punk azz!!! It just goes to show and prove the racist tone of our Law Enforcement agency and the community. If the victim and suspect were black photos would be all over this story!!!

I think we all know that, "shortly after noon" is daylight. What "broad daylight" means, I'm not sure. I always thought there was night and day, with dusk and dawn somewhere in between.

She shoots somebody so is obviously "armed", flees the scene with a witness following, collides with a car carrying kids, fights the officers trying to arrest her and is apparently not tazed or shot. The same bunch that always cries police prejudice is kinda quiet in this case. Doesn't fit THEIR racist agenda I guess...
