Man survives after shooting himself in the face

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A man police say shot himself in the face is expected to survive.

Brunswick Police say the victim was found in a McDonald's parking lot on Altama Drive Monday with a gunshot wound to the cheek. The 21-year-old St. Simons Island man was sent to a hospital in Savannah for treatment. His injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Investigators say the victim was in legal possesion of the weapon and charges were not immediately filed.
