JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mayor Alvin Brown is hoping for another record-breaking showing at EverBank Field as Major League Soccer comes to town this week.

The Philadelphia Union is set to take on the Montreal Impact on Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

"Events like this one bring excitement to the heart of our city and help build our momentum toward becoming a premiere destination for sports and entertainment," Mayor Brown said in a statement, "I encourage everyone to attend, and I look forward to a great game!"

At EverBank Field this past Saturday, the U.S. Women's National Team played in front of more 18,000 fans setting a record for a women's event. Last May, the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team also set a record with attendance at more than 45,000.

Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster.
