Mayor gears up for Senior Christmas event

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mayor Alvin Brown is hosting a fun-filled Christmas holiday event for seniors.

The holiday extravaganza will be Saturday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, according to the mayor's office.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will make an appearance and food will be provided. Guests can dance, win prizes and enjoy live entertainment.

Tickets are being sold for $5 at the Mary Singleton Senior Center at 150 E. 1st St. and at City Hall at 115 W. Duval St. You can get your $5 back when you arrive at the convention center, according to the mayor's public affairs office.
