Mayor reappoints Bower to JEA board
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A controversial mayoral reappointment to the JEA board cleared the city council on Tuesday night.
The Jacksonville City Council approved Peter Bower's reappointment to the JEA board of directors.
The board is made up of seven people. The mayor appoints them, and the city council signs off.
This time last week, Bower started a firestorm when he accused the mayor's office of threatening to oust him from the board if he didn't support Mayor Alvin Brown's pension plan.
A spokesman for the mayor said it never happened and that the mayor did reappoint Bower to the board.
