When my kids were subject to Duval County schools, and the schools did nothing to prevent bullying, I gave my kids instructions to deal with bullies in as extreme a manner as they needed to. That seemed to resolve the problem.

Time to fire the principal and the entire admin staff. Put in some people that want to fix the problem. People leaving school because they are threatened by druggies, and the school not investigating....The Principal is probably the one making the profit from these druggies selling those drugs. Send him to prison....not jail, let him get a real taste of dealing drugs.

It's all about appearances. Problems are fixed on paper rather than in reality. Problems are measured in terms of numbers and percentages. It is much easier and cheaper to change the numbers than to deal with the issues. Crimes that are not reported do not have to be investigated, so what the citizens say and complain about are just "spun" so that they are not "reportable" thus the problem does not exist and there is no need to fix it. This will continue until we, the Citizens, stand up and make it clear that we will no longer tolerate it.

We had to pull our son out of that school last year. Watching this report was like déjà vu. My son was constantly bullied and was strangled with the lanyard he had to wear leaving burns all around his neck. He was depressed and his grades suffered. The school didn't care, they tried to coerce my son into saying he was fine and then stated it didn't warrant bullying. We were actually told that it wasn't bullying if he was being done by more than one child. We documented everything, tried to get the school board involved and they refused to grant him a transfer. Luckily he made the charter lottery and is happy and flourishing in his new school.

Our daughter went to this school for one year and then we pulled her out. In that year, i had to call the police twice. The first time was because of a parent threatening me in the front office and the other time was because i witnessed a girl threaten another girl. The school said they couldnt do anything because the kids were just off school grounds. The administration will say anything to pretend that there are not problems in the school.
