Mayport sailor accused of sexual assault pleads not-guilty
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Mayport sailor accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Jacksonville Beach has pleaded not-guilty in court.
Edward Marshall-Byrd is accused of sexually assaulting MacKenzie Worthley in Jacksonville Beach in early April.
Jacksonville Beach Police say Marshall-Byrd asked for directions, then hit Worthley and reached down her pants on 1st Avenue North. Worthley says a witness heard her screaming for help, and called police.
Marshall-Byrd was arrested a block away from where the crime happened.
A Duval County judge denied bond for Marshall-Byrd on April 13th.
Marshall-Byrd is expected back in court May 16th
