TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Medical marijuana supporters say they have collected enough signatures to make the 2014 ballot.

The group pushing the constitutional amendment announced Wednesday it has collected more than 1.1 million signatures.

It takes nearly 700,000 signatures from registered voters in order to qualify for the ballot. So far election supervisors have certified nearly 458,000 signatures.

Groups pushing a constitutional amendment typically gather more signatures than needed in case some are rejected.

In order the make this year's ballot, the state Supreme Court must also approve the language that will go on the ballot.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has called the amendment misleading and wants the court to reject it.

If the court approves the wording, the amendment needs a yes vote from 60 percent of the voters in order to pass.

I wonder how many people who are all for legalizing this "medical marijuana" were against cigarette smoking. The only reason I bring this up is a lot of cigarette smokers said smoking calmed there nerves and they weren't stressed as much. If you can't smoke I guess they will have to put this marijuana in a pill or liquid form before it could be sold.

if they legalize it we will end up like California....all of a sudden "clinics" will pop up everywhere writing prescriptions to anyone who has money.

No dumb ass, but if a natural herb calms down and puts medical conditions in 'remission' why not? The 'pot heads' who 'abuse' it or sell it for personal profit should be raided constantly, not jailed, and their 'stash' should be confiscated for the Medical profession, to help patients, 'free of charge'. A lot of adults have mental problems from ptsd, brain damage from head injuries, etc..this herb works very well for them. But it should be monitored by their doctor and NEVER mixed with other drugs, alcohol. UNLESS their doctor prescribes another drug with this herb. I HAVE NEVER recommended 'smoking it. NO ONE should ever smoke ANYTHING...'Smoking' is harmful to your health, period.

So "Ganga is good", you are saying that real Americans should support running around in a vegetative state, slurring our speech, and drooling on ourselves?

And somebody needs to tell stupid Pam Bondy and that stupid Sheriff that it DOES come in pill form, prescribed in appropiate doses and also can be in liquid form They should not be playing God and Doctor with OUR choice of drugs we find that works...The FDA and Government have shoved their 'synthetic' MUCH MORE DANGEROUS drugs down the our throats long enough, literally.
