JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The pastor of one of the country's largest mega-churches is here in Jacksonville this Friday.

Pastor Joel Osteen is bringing his "Night of Hope" event to the Veterans Memorial Arena to downtown.

Pastor Osteen tells Action News it's not a church service but rather a celebration. His goal is to inspire and share a message of hope.

"It's all about letting people know God has good things in store and, even though life tries to put everyone down, when you put your faith in the Lord you can move further," says Osteen.

Osteen sits down with our Dawn Lopez for a one on one, tonight on Action News at 5:30 p.m.

He talks about reach of social media. When Osteen took over his father's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, there were 6,000.

Today, the following is more than 40,000, and social media helps the church reach millions all over the globe. Dawn also asks about Osteen's toughest critics and he gives a candid response, tonight on Action News at 5:30 p.m.

It amaze's me how/why people can throw money at a false teacher like this. Whle he lives like a self appointed king most of his follower's live in poverty. Behold he has his reward. Him, Crefo Dollar, Joyce Meyer Binny Hinn and other's of this ilk are cut from the same bolt of Satanic cloth. You all keep on throwing your hard earned money at these false teacher's. You will see him one day without his glossy look and will be exposed for what he really is. Remember Jim and Tammy Baker, Oral Roberts, Robert Schuller they are all the same, false teacher's spreading a false doctrine and has deceived the masses.
