JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Last year at this time, we had Tropical Storm Beryl bearing down on the First Coast. This Memorial Day Weekend will be VERY, very different.
Near-perfect weather is forecast through Memorial Day. Timing is everything...as drier air continues to take hold of our climate here in Northeast Florida.
That's not to say the weekend will pass without changes. We will see temperatures fall off a bit. In fact, temperatures will threaten record lows by early Saturday. The First Alert Forecast is 57 degrees. The record low for May 25 is 55 degrees...set way back in 1892.
Skies will be bright, sunny, and blue. High temperatures will also be slightly below average, however. Expect highs in the low to mid 80s Saturday and Sunday. We'll be at 85 degrees for Memorial Day (Monday).
Conditions at the beaches will get breezy, which will increase our rip current risk from "low" on Friday to "moderate" over the weekend.
Have fun, but be safe. And use sunblock!
