JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Michael Dunn's attorney has moved to have his client released on bond. A hearing started at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Duval County Courthouse.

Jordan Davis' family attorney, John Phillips says he has serious concerns about Dunn getting out of jail. Phillips claims Dunn is a serious flight risk for several reasons. First, Dunn has a plane. Investigators also say Dunn fled the scene of the shooting without calling police or rescue crews.

Jordan's parents told Action News they believe Dunn's release would pose a serious danger to the community.

"The fact that Dunn was so reckless in his actions just the things that we've learned about the case since Jordan's killing makes us very concerned about his frame of mind," said Lucia McBath, Jordan's Mother.

"To me you're [Dunn] sounding suicidal or a sociopath or something is wrong with you so the state should take a look," said Ron Davis, Jordan's father.

An officer is also expected to testify about the evidence thus far at the hearing.

The Judge did not give bond, because she was worried that all the stupid people would riot.....

Seriously, the 17 year old underage kids were at a gas station at 7:15 pm on a Friday night. No One, I repeat, NO One in the SUV is at fault here. What many people here do know is that it is possible the Man who had just left a wedding reception, and who fled the scene, may just be the one at fault. Why is that so hard for you to believe Native Jax?

One Country, these kids are damned for leaving and damned for not leaving.. I agree with kaa, if these kids had a gun they would've used it. Do you not think the police thoroughly searched that parking lot and surrounding lots? Why are you blaming the victims when Mr. Dunn clearly, as an adult, did everything wrong?? He stated he exited his vehicle, with his gun, because he was afraid. Who does that? Exits a safe place and puts themselves closer to the subject of their fear?

Realchange, have you seen the photos of the SUV and the many bullet holes in it. If somebody is spraying my vehicle with bullets, I am not going to stick around. If these young men had a gun, they would have returned fire. The young men were not doing anything illegal. Given that Dunn fled the scene, I would be shocked if he was granted bond. Dunn gives all responsible gun owners a bad name.

Well I think the only reason Dunn left is because the suv left. How did he know they were coming back? If they were scared and left then why did they come right back? They left to get rid of something!!! Drugs,a gun, booze, something!

What crowd Realchange? Did your parents know everyone you'd be with when you were 17? One child in that car had a record. Adjudication with held on a non violent crime. Personally, if a man with a gun is shooting at me where I'm parked, and has already killed my friend, I'd be on the move. He still shot at them though as they were leaving. They never left the shopping strip parking lot. They never got out on to the road. It wouldn't matter if the driver of that SUV was on parole for murder, Dunn wouldn't have known that. Jordan's tox screen at autopsy was clean. He wasn't using drugs.

Realchange, I agree with your comment but it does go both ways. Why did Dunn leave the scene and not call the cops?

Alot noise from the father but no addressing why his son was hanging with the crowd he was. No mention of why the SUV left the scene only to come back a few mins later. Personally if my friend was bleeding to death in my truck and I left it would be to go to a hospital not come back. This raises the prospect in my mind they got rid of a weapon before returning to the crime scene. Additonally the back ground of the driver of the SUV should be scrutinized by the media closely. I keep hearing reports he was felon if so what kind record and for what kind of behavior it has bearing on this case and the people need to know the facts about the SUV driver and occupants.
