JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A familiar face is putting his hat in the ring for another race.

Mike Weinstein says he is running for the Jacksonville City Council in the 2015 election.

Weinstein took a job in  State Attorney Angela  Corey's office after he lost in the 2012 Republican primary for State Senate to Aaron Bean.

He hopes to replace current councilman Stephen Joost in the at-large group 3 seat in Duval County.

Weinstein previously served under Mayors Ed Austin and John Delany and was also head of Jacksonville's Super Bowl Host Committee.

I wonder if he is planning to support our tax and spend city government, or will he REALLY support the citizens of Jacksonville by putting the city maintenance and safety first, and stop all the wasteful spending and reduce the size of city government. Jacksonville needs a come back. For over 30 years our taxes have increased and the city maintenance has decreased. It's about time we held our elected representatives feet to the fire and cut their salary and benefits for lack of taking care of this city's maintenance. Just the thoughts of a taxed out, fed up taxpayer.
