GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Christian Aguilar's girlfriend breaks her silence as she searches for him desperately throughout Gainesville. The UF freshman has been missing for five days now.
Investigators announced tonight that volunteers found a shoe in the area of 1100 NW 53rd Avenue. They say the shoe does not match the description of the shoes Aguilar was wearing the day he disappeared, but it will be processed by investigators. Gainesville police also say Aguilar's phone is no longer active and hasn't been since Thursday.
"It's like a never ending nightmare and it's terrifying," Erika Friman told Action News.
"I'm the one that contacted the police and his family. I was very concerned because it's really not like him to not answer me or go missing."
Action News has learned that Aguilar's girlfriend had previously dated Pedro Bravo, the prime suspect linked to Aguilar's disappearance.
"Me and Pedro had broken up but it was ended and he understood that," said Friman.
Police say the two UF Fresmen got in a fight outside Streits Motorsports last Thursday and Bravo may have left him injured on the side of the road. Friman tells us she's shocked. She said the two teens were best of friends and were not known to fight in the past.
She doesn't think the fight was over her, but she says all she can be concerned with right now is bringing back her beloved boyfriend.
"I'm just so confused and so struck for words and I just want to see Christian safely and I want him back so badly," she said. "I don't know how I feel about Pedro right now I'm just very confused and very hurt that something like this would happen."
Bravo is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
