JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison after her 6-month-old daughter was found dead from methadone toxicity.
Jennifer Lacey Frazier, 29, was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in Florida State Prison for the death of her baby. Frazier pleaded guilty in July to aggravated manslaughter of a child.
In June 2012, the baby was found dead in her home, where she lived with Frazier. Lethal amounts of methadone were discovered in the child's system. The official cause of death was methadone toxicity.
Frazier, a methadone user, said she fed the infant an antibiotic and ibuprofen mixture with the same container she used to mix her methadone. No ibuprofen was found in the child's system.
