JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- While the most persistent and most widespread rain is pushing south and west of Jacksonville, scattered showers will still affect much of Northeast Florida tonight into Thursday. Additional rainfall will generally be a half inch or less though brief heavy downpours will accompany some of the showers. It is possible that a few areas -- mainly near the coast and south of Jacksonville -- could receive another 1-2" of rain. Outside of the scattered showers, skies will be partly cloudy with gusty east to northeast winds at 10-20 mph tonight and 15-25 mph Thursday. The onshore winds will make for dangerous conditions at area beaches where there will be a high rip current risk. Temperatures will be mild with lows tonight in the 60s inland to the 70s at the coast and highs Thursday will be in the mid 80s.
