CRESCENT CITY, Fla. -- Sheriff deputies seized a major marijuana grow operation in Putnam County.

Deputies found more than 850 mature marijuana plants growing in an area off West Grand Rondo Road.

The 4-foot tall plants are valued at $1,000 each.

"Due to the efforts of our deputies and officers with the Crescent City Police Department, we removed over $800,000.00 worth of illegal marijuana from our county," said Sheriff Jeff Hardy.

All the plants have been collected. No arrests have been made.

Shame that wasn't taxed at harvest then taxed again at retail . With all the funding issues and the fact that it was legal longer then Illegal why not tax it and sell it. Like prohibition it just makes money for the criminal element .
