ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- It's a crime that will make you cringe, and it was all caught on this camera. "That is just outrageous. I would never do that. I am lost for words," said motel guest, Ian Andrae.

Police say a man went door to door at the Rodeway Inn trying to trade a baby for food. "I have a three-year-old son. So I am concerned for the kid," said Andrae.

Ian says the suspect knocked on his door, but he wasn't home at the time. But he was there when police came later that night asking for answers.

"There were about 15 officers with dogs and they were going door to door looking," he said.

The Orange Park Police Department now says the man, baby and a woman may have hitched a ride from cab driver at nearby McDonalds late Saturday night. But they still don't know where they are?

"My concern is the baby because I don't know where the baby is. I don't know if he snatched the baby," said motel guest, Lawrence Curry.

"Hopefully it was his kid and not someone else's kid," said Andrae.

Investigators say that taxi driver may hold the key to finding that man. They hope the driver comes forward so they can make sure the baby with him isn't in any danger.

"I hope they find the kid and he gets home safe," said Andrae.

"Find the baby. Find the guy. Get some answers," said Curry.

There are state agencies that can help families in financial need. Just call 2-1-1.

If you have any information that can help police find the man, woman or baby in this case call the Orange Park Police Department at 904-264-5555.

This is a sad story all the way around. People do desperate things in desperate times. Why didn't they stall the guy till someone could get the police involved? I hope him and the baby both have food. Why didn't someone offer to buy him and the baby some food? It could have stalled him long enough to get the police, not to mention feeding someone who's hungry. That's what I would have done.
