JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police end a six-hour standoff with a wanted burglary suspect on the Northside without firing a shot.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office used its SWAT unit to bring the situation to an end around 10:30 p.m, Saturday at the Roosevelt Garden Apartments. Police say Frederick Parishs, a man wanted for a burglary earlier in the week is now in custody.

Parishs is accused of breaking into the home of pregnant woman and her four kids Thursday. He escaped and the victims were unharmed.

Saturday, police learned Parishs was at his house on Lincoln Court. When they arrived, the suspect locked himself in along with an unidentified woman and young child.

Around 4:30 p.m., dozens of SWAT officers, decked out in camouflage gear and carrying rifles, were arrived on scene. At some point, the woman and her child were released. Police later entered the home and took the suspect into custody without violence.
