OCALA, Fla. -- A Florida mother is facing theft charges after police say she was caught on camera stealing from a Marion County Goodwill.

31-year-old Velma Burkman was seen carrying bags of donated clothes out of a collection box in Ocala. Burkman later turned herself into police.

The unemployed mother told police she was looking for clothes and toys for her autistic son. Police say Burkman stole around $1,000 worth of clothes.

while not excusing her actions,, goodwill generally prices items in the $2.00 price range,, so the ocala police are now experts in used clothing ??? she had 500 seperate articles of clothing on her when she pulled this heist ???did she take them out of a bin ??? or were they simply laying on the sidewalk outside of the building ??? so ocala cops have solved the crime of the century with this arrest ??? what a sorry excuse for police priorities !!!
