Mother of murder victim to thank law enforcement
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The mother of a St. Johns County murder victim will be thanking law enforcement and media in solving her son's five-year-old murder.
The body of Clark McWhorter was found in January 2007 in Guana State Park. It was later discovered that he was shot to death.
After receiving several tips in June of this year, detectives were able to arrest Phillip Pomper. He admitted to the murder.
Tuesday morning, McWhorter's mother, Ms. Becky Pruitt, will be meeting with law enforcement officers, prosecutors from the State Attorney's Office and media to thank them in help solving the case.
Pomper is being charged with first degree murder in the death of McWhorter.
