JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The trial of the man accused of killing Jordan Davis could be delayed.

Michael Dunn's attorney filed a motion to delay the trial, scheduled to begin Feb. 3 in Jacksonville.

Attorney Corey Strolla wants more time to prepare for the case, which is getting national attention.

Strolla asked for the trial to be delayed until April.

The State Attorneys Office issued this statement.

"The State Attorney’s Office will not try this case in the media and will comment further in the appropriate venue – the courtroom."

Dunn faces one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder for allegedly shooting into an SUV full of teens at a Gate Gas station on the Southside in November 2012 after a confrontation over loud music.

Davis, a Wolfson High School student, was killed.
