ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a hit and run.

Florida Highway Patrol says 40-year-old Bruce Scott was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Preservation Trail in St. Johns County. A Honda CRV driving next to that motorcycle collided with him when it tried to switch lanes causing the accident.

After the crash, the driver of the CRV drove away from the scene, continuing east on Preservation Trail.

Scott was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Whoever did this is no doubt checking the news to see if it has been reported, and very well may be reading our comments. So I have a message to whoever did this. You have changed this man, and his faily's life forever. Not long from now, yours will change, too. When you are, your name and face will be put on all the newscats and all of the local news sites. You could have done the right thing and stopped after this accident, but you chose to be a coward and a lowlife. Surely you did so because you probably don't want to be bothered with a few bucks a month for insurance, so we'll handle this your way. Your days of freedom are getting low. Enjoy!

Oh my "old dog," do you ride? My beloved does as do many other family members. It does upset me to see how many drives do not watch out for motorcycles. Personally I am hyper vigilant when I drive, always on the look out for the headlight of a bike. I pray for this rider. I also hope the CRV driver gets theirs and as severely a punishment as possible.

People like the person in the CRV need to be shot, they are a total disgrace to the human race. Put these kind of people in jail for no less than ten years and have their family pay to keep them behind bars or they get executed. I am sick and tired of people causing accidents and then running like the cowards they are without consideration of the person or persons injured.
